Turtle Soup - "Hall of Fame Women"

March 22, 2019  12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Feed your mind and your belly with Turtle Soup, featuring a presentation on historic Black Hills figures or events and a bowl of soup provided by Angel’s Catering. This week, The Journey Museum and Learning Center presents, "Dream Chasers: South Dakota Hall of Fame Women."

Three inductees will lead the event: Kay Jorgensen, Judy Olson Duhamel, and Ann McKay Thompson. The women will share their stories for Women in History Month about the trials of chasing their dreams. Get up close and personal with these dynamic champions!

Kay Jorgensen is a leading businesswoman. She has co-founded and co-owned several businesses, spreading her talents across service industries. She has also served in the State Legislature and has served on various boards.

Judy Olson Duhamel is a life-long educator. She has served on state boards and worked internationally to improve public education and childcare. She has also served in the State Senate and has chaired the state Democratic Party.

Ann McKay Thompson is an educator and contributor to the arts and humanities. She founded the state’s first university center and has served as founder and president of related institutions. She was one of the first women to serve in the Cabinet of a South Dakota governor.
Admission for Turtle Soup is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and half-off for members. Call 394-6923 to reserve seats.
