It’s a journey rich with stories and traditions—from prehistoric encounters and Native American heritage to pioneer tales and spaceflight.
Each member of the family will delight in discovering a vast array of cultural artifacts and interactive experiences and leave with a connection to this unique and diverse place Lakotas fittingly called the “Island in the Plains”.

The Journey Museum, hosts of the Turtle Soup Speaker Series, will feature Tayla Bahr and Miranda Zwingelberg on April 26. In their program titled, “Fish Tales: Inside the D.C. Booth National Historic Fish Hatchery,” Bahr and Zwingelberg will discuss the archives located at the D.C. Booth National Fish Hatchery.

Painted Tipis of the Blackfeet Nation

This exhibition explores the rich history and art of Blackfeet painted lodges, or tipis. Blackfeet artist Victor Pepion created paintings depicting dozens of traditional painted tipis during the 1930’s -1940’s. Admission to this exhibit is free.
