November 1, 2019 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Feed your mind and your belly with Turtle Soup, featuring a presentation on historic Black Hills figures or events and a bowl of soup provided by Angel’s Catering. This week, State Rep. Chris Johnson presents, "Deadwood Dick."

At a time when Deadwood, South Dakota was full of myths and outlaws, there was the Wild West legend of “Deadwood Dick,” also known as “One-Eyed Dick.”
Although he was the hero of dime novels from the late 1800s, Dick was actually a real-life figure!
Many men claimed to be him. Johnson explores the colorful story of the man believed to be the real Deadwood Dick. This was a man who came from England to make a better life for his family. A man who - legend has it - killed the notorious Lame Johnny.
Hear the real story and see real artifacts on display.
Not only is Johnson a legislator - he’s also the creator of the Pawnseum in Rapid City, serving as both a pawn shop and a museum! On top of that, Johnson is a real estate agent and hosts his own podcast, “Amplify Rapid City.”
Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, half-off for members. Call 605-394-6923 to reserve tickets.
