The Journey Museum and Learning Center is not only a natural history museum but a place to learn and have fun while doing it! Whether you’re visiting with your family, with a travel tour group, or on an educational field trip, The Journey Museum and Learning Center has something for everyone.

Take a journey through time in this unique natural history museum unlike any other museum in the Black Hills area. The Journey Museum and Learning Center houses not only the history of the Black Hills and how they came to be but also history on how the Earth began and the things that roamed these lands, from dinosaurs to now. Native American culture is rich here, and guests can walk away knowing they learned a great deal about where the Lakota people’s culture came from and how it forms their daily lives. Space is traveled and dinosaur bones are dug up in the museum. Children will leave with a sense of wonder and awe.

The Journey Museum and Learning Center has something for everyone of all ages, from art exhibits for the adults in your group, to digging for fossils for the kiddos, and even discovery expeditions and crafts for the toddlers in your family. There is something new to see and do and learn at the natural history museum, and you are guaranteed a new experience every time you visit. Take a look through some of the many programs we offer to teach the community about history and Native American culture. The Journey Museum and Learning Center boasts a wide range of events, so browse our events calendar. You will learn something new every time you come.
