The Journey Museum and Learning Center is all about educational activities for each age group. Everyone can have fun with activities that cover a range of topics!

Want to learn about beadwork, one of the best known art forms practiced by Native Americans? Put what you learn to the test by making your own beadwork design of a turtle or salamander!

Discover true cultures of people you may not know too much about. Did you know that the word “Eskimo” was invented by French mountaineers who didn’t speak their language, and it’s not the real name for their people! In fact – no one knows what “Eskimo” even means.

Use knowledge from our learning center and creative thinking to discover new worlds at this unique museum. There’s something new every week. Bring the whole family for activities, experiments, and crafts that make learning FUN!

Journey Into Space

Take a real-time trip through space using our NASA supported Uniview Digital Universe Software. See the constellations and more in this surreal space museum, the only one of its kind between Denver and Minneapolis!

Uniview is widely recognized as the most accurate data visualization platform in the planetarium industry. At its very core, the Uniview software is an interactive computer platform designed for live presentation. Powered by scientific databases and physically accurate visualizations of earth science, Uniview produces visually striking journeys through databases of any scale.

Real time Astronomy & Earth Sciences. Our NASA supported Uniview Digital Universe Software allows you to explore over 50 categories of scientific models, including all known objects in the solar system, Kepler candidates, star forming regions, star clusters, the local group, deep space objects, Sloan galaxies, and quasars to name a few.

Classic Astronomy Observation. Uniview simulates orbital motion with the same precision as NASA simulations for space missions. Day and night sky, celestial and galactic coordinate systems, meridian and ecliptic are just some features of our complete classical planetarium system. Uniview can calculate and transition to events such as sunrise, sunset, solar noon and midnight. It can also transition to and from any geographical location on the surface of the Earth or any other planet to observe the sky from different locations. Earth science data features include all the essential planetarium features, such as 88 constellations with lines and artwork, planets rendered as properly colored and lit points when seen from afar, the Milky Way, and much more.

Planetary Exploration and Earth Sciences. Uniview has access to a network of daily updated satellite imagery that can be integrated in a show at a minute’s notice, directly to your planetarium experience. Through streaming of cloud-based data, you get access to daily updated satellite imagery, weather events, planetary and lunar exploration, and extra solar planets.

Join us for Toddler Tuesdays at the museum from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays.

It’s history and science for our youngest visitors! Come learn and play with our specialized Journey educators as they host a class designed especially with toddlers in mind. Join us for wonderfully engaging activities that get your preschooler grooving in the museum.

Toddler Tuesdays include arts and crafts projects that develop tactile skills and activities that ignite a toddler’s sense of wonder and creativity.

The beauty of The Journey Museum and Learning Center is that we encourage everyone to touch, feel and discover. At Toddler Tuesday, the toddlers are in charge! Using their main senses, they bring natural and local history to life!

Recommended for ages 2-5. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Take a look at our Calendar of Events for upcoming programs.

Take a peek into a world of wonder in a Discovery Expedition class. We want to reflect our diverse community, so The Journey Museum and Learning Center creates wonderfully playful and interactive learning experiences for people of all ages to enjoy.
