Keith Braveheart

BOARD MEMBER |

Keith BraveHeart is an Oglala Lakota independent curator, visual artist, and arts educator from the Pejuta Haka community (Medicine Root, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, SD). BraveHeart received his BFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts (Santa Fe, NM) and MFA from the University of South Dakota (Vermillion, SD). His work within art and community is diverse and includes exhibition curation, arts & culture programing, and community-engaged arts initiatives. BraveHeart is committed to enriching and encouraging tribal arts continuums across the Northern Plains region, and expresses a sincere acknowledgment of being a “supportive relative.”  

Stacie Granum

BOARD CHAIR |

Stacie Granum is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in results-driven marketing and advertising initiatives and driving impactful strategic initiatives across diverse industries, including tourism, government, education, healthcare, retail, and science and technology. Her extensive background includes leadership roles in strategic planning, destination stewardship, and both traditional and digital marketing. She excels in identifying growth opportunities, optimizing organizational structures, and navigating complex challenges. Her ability to motivate and inspire teams, make data-driven decisions, solve problems, and build strong relationships with stakeholders highlights her leadership ability. She is dedicated to community service, actively participating on various boards and committees, reflecting her commitment to the well-being of the community she serves.

Kathryn Henning

BOARD MEMBER |

Kathryn joined the board mid-2025 when the Black Hills Historical Society and Journey Museum merged.  She is a native of rural southeastern South Dakota and lives in Rapid City.  Kathryn’s career has largely been dedicated to raising funds for nonprofit organizations in South Dakota, along with helping launch businesses and nonprofits.  She has also worked extensively in the political arena and with renewable resources.  She prioritizes community and local government board service.  Kathryn has an MBA from the University of South Dakota, a chemistry degree from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and has also earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential.

Micah Lande

BOARD MEMBER |

Micah Lande is an assistant professor in the Leslie A. Rose Department of Mechanical Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, where he holds the E.R. Stensaas Chair for Engineering Education. He leads the Holistic Engineering Learning Lab & Observatory and teaches courses in human-centered design, innovation, and making. His research looks at how people learn and apply design thinking in their studies, work, and everyday lives.

 

  • Micah grew up in California visiting the Exploratorium in San Francisco and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, experiences that shaped his love of learning in hands-on, curiosity-driven environments. He enjoys making connections across exhibits at the Journey, like how the story of early balloon flights at the Stratobowl tie back to the area’s unique geological formation. You’ll also find him in the STEAM Room, exploring new ways to bring creativity and discovery to life for visitors of all ages.

Callie Meyer

CITY LIAISON |

Callie is a lifelong South Dakotan, having grown up in Watertown. She received her Bachelor of Science in Sustainability from the University of South Dakota.  

She worked in the start-up and agriculture sectors prior to joining Main Street Square as the Executive Director. Currently, she works in the tourism industry as the Director of Community Engagement for Visit Rapid City, where she is certified as a Professional in Destination Management. 

  • Her community involvement has included the Elevate Leadership Institute Class of 2025, the TeamMates Mentorship Program, membership on the City of Rapid City Comprehensive Plan Strategic Advisory Team, the City of Rapid City Sustainability Committee, the Elevate Public Policy Committee, the Fundraising Committee for the Humane Society of the Black Hills, and the Leadership South Dakota Class of 2026. 

Reese Niu

BOARD MEMBER |

Reese Niu is a workforce development professional who has built a career around strengthening communities and creating pathways to opportunity. She currently serves as the Vice President of Vocational Services at Black Hills Works, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities. Previously, she served as the Workforce Planning Director at Elevate Rapid City, where she advised local employers on talent strategy, led regional workforce initiatives, and helped connect community members to opportunities for economic growth and advancement. Her contributions to the field earned her recognition as a Top 50 Economic Developer in North America in 2025 and inclusion in the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives' 40 Under 40 Class of 2024.

  • Reese holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Portland State University and multiple certifications in workforce development, human resources, and inclusive leadership from institutions including Michigan State University and the International Economic Development Council. Beyond her professional work, Reese is committed to serving the Rapid City community and serves on numerous boards, has been appointed to multiple city commissions and committees, and is the head volleyball coach at Rapid City Central High School. Rooted in her Samoan heritage, Reese brings her cultural values of respect, service, and faith to everything she does. 

Ritchie Nordstrom

BOARD TREASURER |

Ritchie was born and raised near Madison, South Dakota on a dairy farm. He graduated from Madison-Orland High School prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy serving from 1967-1971. Ritchie was stationed in Japan and Vietnam near Da Nang and Quang Tri with the Navy Seabees Amphibious Construction Battalion -1 (ACB-1) West Pac Battalion and later assisted with a crew that picked up Apollo 14 from the South Pacific.

  • Ritchie began his professional career in the private sector from 1972 to 1980. He went on to work for 30 years for the City of Rapid City before retiring on January 7, 2011, as an Industrial Waste Technician for the Water Reclamation Facility.

    Ritchie has served on the Rapid City Common Council since 2011 - 2023 representing Ward 2.

    Ritchie’s other community leadership roles include serving on the Water Environment Federation, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and American Legion Post 22. Ritchie is also a past dance instructor for the Career Learning Center of Rapid City. Currently, Ritchie is a member of Thriverr a Statewide group that is involved with smaller community economic development, and the Journey Museum and Learning Center Museum Alliance of Rapid City (MARC) Board. 


Pat Roseland

BOARD VICE CHAIR |

Patrick "Pat" Roseland is a cornerstone of the Rapid City community, bringing decades of civic leadership and architectural expertise to the Museum Alliance of Rapid City (MARC) Board. A former City Council Alderman for Ward 5, Pat’s commitment to the city’s development continues through his current role as a liaison to the Rapid City Planning Commission, where he advocates for pedestrian safety and thoughtful urban growth.

  • Ritchie began his professional career in the private sector from 1972 to 1980. He went on to work for 30 years for the City of Rapid City before retiring on January 7, 2011, as an Industrial Waste Technician for the Water Reclamation Facility.

John Wilmes

BOARD MEMBER |

John Wilmes joined the Journey Museum Board mid-2025 when the Black Hills Historical Society and the Museum Alliance of Rapid City merged.  John has worked at every level from engineer to CTO in telecommunications and healthcare at companies ranging from startups to multinationals.  He brings a focus on human-centered technology to his work on the Board.  He also serves on the board of the West Boulevard Neighborhood Association and volunteers with perseverenow.org mentoring people entering the IT workforce.
