Education and Programs Director
Position Summary:
The Education and Programs Director at the Journey Museum is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing dynamic and engaging educational and public programs that enhance the visitor experience and promote lifelong learning in the fields of history and science. The Museum’s audience ranges from toddlers to elders. The role involves close collaboration with museum staff, community partners, and other stakeholders to create programs and exhibits that are mission driven, community focused, and relevant to diverse audiences. The Education and Programs Director will supervise education staff and volunteers, manage program budgets, and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of educational initiatives.

1. Program Development and Implementation
2. Community Collaboration and Outreach
3. Staff and Volunteer Management
4. Budget and Resource Management
5. Evaluation and Reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Museum Studies, History, Science, or a related field.
· 3-5 years of work experience in education, public history, science, or a related role.
· Strong understanding of educational theory and best practices in museum education.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to develop and manage educational programs and budgets.
· Experience in grant writing and fundraising is an asset.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
