Slow Art Day is April 11, 2026, and the Journey Museum invites museum goers for a day of special programming as one of the 100+ global host venues. During Slow Art Day, enjoy free museum admission and the chance to slow down with a piece of art.
In this self-guided STEAM activity, located in the Family Learning Lab, children will practice self-expression and patience. Children are encouraged to slow down and take on a thoughtful approach toward their own piece of art: a yarn-wrapped initial.
Enjoy crafting this piece with your child and take the opportunity to foster a conversation about how they feel it is a reflection of themself. Afterward, take it home and display it!
Most STEAM Saturdays are offered as sessions, but this Slow Art Day special is self-guided and ongoing the entire day.
Not ready to say goodbye to the museum once it’s over? Become a member and join us for family-friendly fun year-round!
