Join Corey for the story of Alfred Dahlin, told through photographs, letters, and research.
Alfred Dahlin was a soldier in World War I, who, after serving his country, returned to farming in Sisseton, South Dakota. This is his story, through images, letters, and research. Previously a South Dakota History journal article, this story has been expanded as more research has come to light about Fred’s life and family. A South Dakota man who suffered from multiple wounds, both emotional and physical, he would go on to represent the layman’s experience in World War I and relate to veterans from all eras.
