About the Speaker
Kelly Kirk is the Director of the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center, where she leads the museum dedicated to sharing the history and science of the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF). An educator and historian, Kelly is passionate about discovering and telling the stories of the people and places that define our region. Through exhibits, programs, and outreach, she and the Visitor Center team welcome tens of thousands of guests each year, connecting visitors with the rich history of the Homestake Mine and the groundbreaking science taking place deep underground.
